GEORGIA: BATUMI

Bus Project - Corporate Development and Stakeholder Participation Programme
In March 2018 GMCS a.s. signed a contract with Batumi Autotransport Ltd. for the assignment to form Corporate Development Programme and a Stakeholder Participation Programme for the bus services in the City of Batumi. The Project is financed by EBRD and aims to improve and modernise bus operations in Batumi and includes also the purchase of a new bus fleet of approximately 10 electric and 20 diesel buses. The Beneficiaries of the project are the City and the Batumi Autotransport LLC (the “Company”), a municipal bus company, which is wholly owned by the City.

GMCS will assist the Company to improve its commercial standing, service and environmental/social performance by supporting the development and implementation of relevant policies for corporate, financial, operational and environmental/social management. GMCS will also assist the Company to develop a medium-term focused corporate development programme and to improve the corporate planning capacity to assist its transition towards becoming a self-sustaining entity with commercially sustainable operations, as well as implementation of the Environmental and Social Action Plan (“ESAP”) developed for the Company and implementation Public Service Contract with the City to provide municipal bus services

KYRGYZSTAN: OSH

GMCS-PRAHA s.r.o continues to implement Osh Water Supply and Wastewater Rehabilitation Project Phase II.
At the end of February and the first days of March the project team discussed with Osh Water Company management approaches to financial and operational performance improvement, in particular in water and sanitation tariff methodology and budgeting, as well as in online communication with clients and stakeholders, including via website and social networks. The team delivered several short training seminars, namely on the cost of improved urban water and sanitation services and on health impacts of water and sanitation quality to employees of the customers' department, and on communication to the Water Company senior and middle management. With support of the team the Water Company held two important meetings with stakeholders, one with Water Users' Associations of the districts where household water meters have been and will be installed, and a Kick-off meeting of the Advisory Board of the Company.

KAZAKHSTAN: PAVLODAR

New trams entered into operation
On December 12, 2017 the first two low-floor trams manufactured by “Belkommunmash” were presented to public in the industrial city of Pavlodar, one of the two Kazakh cities preserving operation of trams as one of the main types of urban public transport. Another Byelorussian tram joined the fleet on the eve of the New Year 2018. Renovation of the rolling stock, 95% of which dates back to the XX century aging twenty five years and more, is the core objective of the EBRD-sponsored “Pavlodar Tram Project”. Besides 23 new vehicles, the project provides funds for GPS navigation system and rehabilitation of railway infrastructure, cable and contact network. GMCS-PRAHA s.r.o. delivers all spectrum of project management support services, including comprehensive assistance with procurement, administration of contracts, technical supervision, reporting and knowledge transfer.
