New trams entered into operation

On December 12, 2017 the first two low-floor trams manufactured by “Belkommunmash” were presented to public in the industrial city of Pavlodar, one of the two Kazakh cities preserving operation of trams as one of the main types of urban public transport. Another Byelorussian tram joined the fleet on the eve of the New Year 2018. Renovation of the rolling stock, 95% of which dates back to the XX century aging twenty five years and more, is the core objective of the EBRD-sponsored “Pavlodar Tram Project”. Besides 23 new vehicles, the project provides funds for GPS navigation system and rehabilitation of railway infrastructure, cable and contact network.
